The Sha’ban moon was sighted as announced by Chicago Hilal committee. InshaAllah tomorrow is 1st of Sha’ban. No iqama time changes for this week but we will have changes next week.
Allahumma baarik lana fi Rajaba wa Sha’bana wa balligh-na Ramadan
Translation: Oh Allah! Grant us Barakah (Blessing) during (the months of) Rajab and Sha’ban, and allow us to reach Ramadan.

ICMC will be doing a program on The Miracle of Israa & Miraaj - The Night Journey and The Ascension of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ" for kids 5 years old & above tomorrow, Thursday Feb 8th between 6:30 - 7:15 pm.
Please send your kids to attend this program so they could learn some lessons from this event . Inshaallah.

Year end tax receipts have been sent to your email
Assalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,
Our Finance team has been working hard to generate the year end tax receipt statements for everyone.
There are certain things we can do to make the process easier
1- The system is based on email address, phone number and name. If someone uses the same email address for multiple people or if someone uses the same name with multiple emails and phones, we have to do donor consolidation and that is a tedious process in worst case scenarios
Please try to use consistent information when you donate InshaAllah
2- Make sure to put memo information in Zelle donations. If you can add email address to the memo, that will help immensely. Remember that when we receive the Zelle donation, we only see the senders name. If you are using an organization bank account, we will not know who the person is
All receipts should be received on the email address we have on record. If there are any discrepancies or if you did not receive a receipt but should have, contact payicmc@icmclean.org

City of Chicago votes Gaza ceasefire resolution
Assalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,
A couple of hours ago, City of Chicago became the largest government in USA to vote for Gaza ceasefire with Mayor Johnson casting the tie vote.
Come to potluck this Friday at ICMC and hear from Muslim Civic Coalition, who was instrumental in securing this historic vote. They will talk about how important it is to engage in Civic work in USA.
Please arrive by 6:15 pm. Talk will start at 6:30 pm. Dinner will be served after Isha at 7:15 pm

Ramadan Update
Assalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,
For the last two years, we have had the fortune of having Hafiz Maulana Noman from Peoria come lead our Taraweeh at ICMC during Ramadan.
This year, he is not available.
Therefore, we interviewed candidates and selected Hafiz Karim Razzouk to lead Taraweeh at ICMC during this Ramadan InshaAllah.
Hafiz Razzouk completed Hifdh in 2018 in islamic institute in Canada. He did daily Imamat and Hifdh teaching in 2019 in Montreal, Canada. Then he travelled to Mauritania to work on revision and tajweed for two years.
He led tahajjud in Ramadhan 2022 in Mauritania. He also did taraweeh and tahajjud in Ramadhan 2023 in Montreal, Canada.
He is fluent in English, Arabic and French and his family is originally from Morocco.
May Allah SWT allow us to reach Ramadan and benefit fully from the month of Quran. Ameen
